This museum is great! They also give military/Veterans a discount on the admission. The history and the motorcycles are amazing!I CAN NOT believe they're closing their doors in September. It's a shame this museum and the history are going to be auctioned off.I'm hoping someone with the cash can step up and save this place before it's gone. It's definitely worth a stop and seeing all the motorcycles and other history.See it before it's gone!

Worth a stop. If you like motorcycles- definitely worth it. If you like certain types of bikes- still worth it. Fair pricing too. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Loved it. Was blown away by the display of motorcycles here! If you are a motorcycle fan you have to come here. Definitely need to be here when they open so you can see it all! Very clean helpful staff.

I visited in 2022 & thought I left a review, but apparently not. This place is well worth the admission, if you're into motorcycles. There are a ton of cool bikes here and different areas of the museum. All the bikes I saw, had info about the bike.Don't go thinking all the bikes are "pristine/redone", because they are not. Some are on loan/donated and are used bikes, that would probably start up and take you down the road. Some are a blast from the past, whether for speed or a technical wonder for it's time. The museum is set up nicely and was clean when I was there. I do wish they had more room in order to see some bikes better, since some areas are pretty packed.I recently saw that they will be closing this year, and what a shame. I hope I can make it there again, before that day comes. I live a few hours away & well worth the drive.

Come while you still can, as this place sadly closes permanently in the first week of SeptemberIt's a great museum. I don't like motorcycles, and I still found it pretty interestingI spent exactly (not including seconds) 1 hour and 45 minutes here. If you did not read everything, it would take significantly shorter

Excellent museum and I learned a lot about the evolution of motorcycles. Many of the bikes has an information chart posted in front which helped me learn what the bike was all about. The walls are covered in old signage. There were a lot of Harley’s but also a section for Triumphs, Indians and some other brands, even old dirt bikes. They have a few exhibits set up to show the old board tracks and the wall of death. There was some history about the first female wall of death riders that I really enjoyed. It’s sad this place is closing in September 2023. Better get over and see while you still can!!!

What an awesome museum! Definitely, worth our 2 hr drive here. Very educational, and a ton of vintage items from our childhood. Love it! The employee on duty was absolutely amazing. So fun with a great personality! Highly recommend going! Bucketlist goals! ✅

This is a fantastic museum but give yourself plenty of time to check it out.The collection is incredibly varied and surprises are everywhere. My only complaint is that some areas of the museum are so packed tight it's hard to see a lot of the motorcycles. Seeing an awesome vintage bicycle collection was an unexpected surprise. It really helped tie together how much two wheeled transportation has changed in more than a century.Altogether an overwhelming collection with some serious history that deserves more than a quick walk through.

Get there before they shut down in fall. Took a run down there today from MPLS area. Well worth the 640 mile day. They are already taking a few things down, so get there soon. If you are into early Harley stuff, there is a ton. Also plenty of other bikes.

Neat little museum if you love motorcycles and their history. Not as extensive as Wheels through time, but still a cool place. Unfortunately they will be shutting their doors September 5th, so I rode out on a Thursday just to walk through. Took me about 45 minutes. Glad I went.

This cultural gem features engaging galleries that delve into their history, including a captivating permanent exhibition titled "Faces of Freedom: The Czech and Slovak Journey." This multimedia experience takes visitors through significant historical events such as the World Wars and life under Communist rule, ultimately highlighting their quest for freedom in America.
Incredible displays of information of the Czechoslovakian culture! Beautiful exhibits, rich history, and informative staff. Highly recommend to anyone - local or otherwise.

Very nice museum. It had a bunch of pictures, films, music, really captured what it was like according to history books. Hands on exhibits, a house from the years, it's a great history lesson and it keeps children entertained with all the stuff to look at.

My wife and I had some time to burn between landing in Cedar Rapids and catching a shuttle to Dubuque, and we found this museum on the map and couldn't resist stopping in to learn some familial history. We only had about 20 minutes, so I asked the staff for the highlights. We were able to rush through the Faces of Freedom exhibit in the Jiruska gallery and the Sleger Family cabin. The exhibits were informing, entertaining, and plentiful. The staff was so kind and understanding of our situation, and very knowledgeable. While our time there was way too short for my liking, it's only prompted me to want to learn more. If I ever find myself back in Cedar Rapids I'd make a point to schedule a longer visit.

My husband and I stumbled in here, the displays were so informative and I love learning about another culture. We ended walking around for a couple of hours, the clothes and music were by far my favorite, the ship was also pretty cool. The gift shop seemed crazy high in prices but worth getting a couple of trinkets to commemorate your visit, the ladies working there were so nice!

Pros: Some interesting history. Lots of traditional garments. Interactive displays. Nice place to visit for an hour or so. Friendly staff.Cons: Parking. Price. Only about 30% of the total size of the building is dedicated to museum exhibits, disappointed there wasn't more to see.

I visited the National Check and Slovak Museum and Library for the first time Saturday, February 3, 2018 to check out the Art of Accessories exhibit.I really enjoyed the exhibit of folk art and the detail of the handwork that was exhibited. Also the permanent exhibit of the velvet revolution was very informational and I appreciated the interactive immersion of the exhibits.I am thinking of joining as an Individual, renewable annually for only $35.00 a year. Gets you in free and I would be supporting the museum.I had fun, would like to go back soon and encourage you to check it out. Admission is $10.00. Not bad for the few hours would could spend soaking up the history. Also I watched 4 Bald Eagles fishing on the river from the entryway. very neat.

I've known about this museum for what seems like forever, but had never visited until recently. So on a recent trip to Iowa, I decided I would spend one half of a day checking out things in Cedar Rapids and this was on my agenda. It's not a particularly huge museum, but definitely worth the admission fee to check out the exhibits on display, whether you have and Czech or Slovak heritage or not. If you are passing through Cedar Rapids, it's a good place to stop in as well as checking out some of the places in the surrounding neighborhood!

Not a huge fan. This should be a funky hipster paradise, but it is pretty much a tourist trap. Most of the places serve more wings and busch light than they do Czech food. There is really nothing to do other than eat, and drink. It reminds me of the downtowns that serves tourist attractions without the attraction.

What a wonderful experience. Everyone was friendly, nice, and helpful. The exhibits were interesting and full of history. The library is a good place to start a genealogy search if you have Czech/Slovakian heritage. We were fortunate enough to get a chance to witness the Bohemian Garnets exhibit which is only at this museum out of all of the museums in the USA and is only here for a short time before going back to Prague. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Cool area! Wish it opened just a little earlier, ended up just window shopping while waiting for our seat at Lucky's. But the shops are so cute and it has a really cool vibe! We even found a Painted Rock! I'm so excited to see people are still doing that! I plan to relocate it :)

The village is a small area and it's very walkable and you can visit a multitude of interesting shops. Make sure you visit the Czech Museum since I found it worthy. I had very little concept of the struggles in this country and after a visit I came away with tremendous respect upon learning the history and endurance of the Czech people. This museum has an unusable way of transmitting personal struggles. You must visit. Honestly, I am not a fan of museums, but I do recommend this one. I especially enjoyed the film showing how this large museum was moved after a severe flood. Fascinating.

This was my first visit to the museum. The immigrant house was fascinating. As were the galleries. They had several cases with glass on display. The docent said they have quite a bit more, it was just not currently on display. It would be wonderful to see more. Maybe next time. The docents were very knowledgeable about their subjects and very friendly.

Brucemore is a grand 19th-century mansion situated on a historic 26-acre estate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It serves as a tribute to the legacies of three prominent local families. Initially constructed in 1884 for Caroline and her children, it was renowned as "the grandest house west of Chicago." The mansion was designed in the Queen Anne style but underwent renovations by subsequent owners, George and Irene Douglas, who transformed it into a simpler Craftsman style.
Brucemore is a lovely 19th. Century mansion. It contains original art and architectural details by Grant Wood. Especially charming is a small fresco on an upstairs sleeping porch. There is a great deal of beautiful woodwork in the main hall and reception rooms. Be sure to look up, to see the Classical-themed mural that borders the walls there. Most of the furnishings and domestic items are original to the house. The remainder are authentic period items. Keep an eye out, and you will discover a link to the Titanic tragedy. During this Christmas season, the home boasts 14 holiday trees, as well as many other seasonal decorations. In the growing season, the gardens are open to the public with no fee. The grounds are still recovering from the 2020 derrecho, so you will see many newly planted trees; but many large, mature trees survived. Brucemore is a great destination for adult lovers of history, art, and architecture. Because it is a "hands-off" museum, families with children may prefer to visit only the gardens. (12/2021)

Me and my dad chose to visit this place for my last day of staying in Cedar Rapids, the mansion and the grounds itself were very beautiful and scenic. We ordered the tickets for a non guided tour before we got there. The staff who scanned our tickets told us that it was fine to walk around the house and that everything checked out. The staff at the front was nice but looked at us a little weird and overall seemed off. My dad and I went to the 3rd floor first and chose to make our way to the bottom floor from there. As we had gotten up there a female staff worker had followed us up and said told us we has snuck away from the rest of them. We explained that we had the no tour guide tickets and she smiled sarcastically and preceded to follow us around while we toured. No matter what floor we were on she followed us and tried to guide us. We even followed all the rules, didn’t touch anything, only went in doors that were open, no flash photography, etc. It was tolerable until we made our way back down to the first floor while in the library, the staff kept giving us glances and seemed to be keeping such an eye on us as if we were trying to steal something. Then right as we left we overheard one of the staff say “they’re finally leaving.” Overall it was not an experience I would like to come back too unless the staff were to change.
Sydney S — Google review
After waiting for the house to open, we were turned away because we had not purchased tickets ahead of time. There was nothing posted outside of the house stating tickets were needed or that they needed to be purchased ahead, we were told we could wait another 30 minutes and come back for a self guided tour but weren't aloud to go at the time we were there ....we were the first people in line when they opened the house. We went ahead and left as we didn't have the time to wait the additional time and it saved our group $70.00. So I would highly recommend finding and purchasing the tickets ahead of time or don't waste your time by even going.

We didn't get to go inside, but the gardens and grounds were lovely and there were plenty of photo opportunities. The pet cemetery was a highlight of our visit! Beautiful mansion, excellent and informative tour! (Many stairs, so be prepared!) Lovely grounds to walk around. Also, another exhibit hall with many pictures, history and some artifacts. Movies(!) taken in the first half of the 1900's of life in the Hall family: playing with their pet lion, behind the scenes of Gone with the Wind, and other everyday occurrences!!! Such a great tour. Backbone State Park, an Iowa treasure, is a sprawling natural reserve featuring a lake and 21 miles of multi-use trails suited for hiking, biking and snowmobiling. The park offers diverse outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, cabin rental and boat rental. The backbone trail is a must-see attraction known for its famous rock spine that extends for 1 mile.
Beautiful park. Very well kept up. Single private showers with locks in the camp grounds, also very clean. 4-1 bedroom cabins, 4-2 bedroom cabins also very nice. Trout stream for fishing that they stock regularly. Miles of trails to walk, lots of picturesque views to take in. Suggest going in the fall when the colors are vibrant.

We visited over Veterans Day weekend 2022, so I’m almost a year late posting this. We had the park almost to ourselves, stayed in one of the cabins on site. Very simple, and modest but good enough for a place to warm up and rest for the night.Trails were decent, and definitely easy. Saw eagles, deer, and evidence of beavers. Our mini schnauzer loved exploring, and even caught a mole! Good times!

This is a super nice park. Pretty big too. We stayed here in our travel trailer and the site was nice and spacious. Slightly shaded. Electric only but the bathrooms are clean and there's water spouts throughout the park. We went to the spring and the cave. Both super short walks but pretty. We could have spent another day or two here but we were just passing through on our way back to Ohio.

Weather turned cold the end of camping season but it didn't change our minds. Beautiful spot and we ended up with almost the whole park to ourselves. A lot of nice places for walking and hiking. This was our first visit and when spring gets here we are sure to visit again and again so much to explore!

We did the backbone trail loop and it was cool! You have to do a little self navigating through some of the rocks and trees especially with all the fallen leaves covering the trail. It felt like we were rock climbing at times. The trail is full of tripping hazards. Watch the ground at all time. The rocks stick up like a spine would so the name is fitting. Then once you're past the rock parts, it'd a ton of tree root trippers. Not for elderly or young children. I did help my dog up and down some of the rocks we had to climb that were a big jump. Also it was 3pm and you could hear a lot of owls which made it even better!

Backbone is a beautiful state park. It’s shows off some of the most beautiful hardwood trees in the fall splendor…leaves are just electric in the fall. We love hiking the trails with our dogs. The park is immaculate as visitors respect it and keep in clean. If you camp, the sites are nice with quite a few to chose from. The small beach is also rather nice in the summer. This is a true jewel in northeast Iowa

Park with an estate featuring a Frank Lloyd Wright house, tours & a visitor center with exhibits.
Our last stop on our way back to MN and we totally enjoyed it. This was our first Frank Lloyd Wright designed home that we have toured. While we waited for our tour, we checked out the family’s boat and motor. It was like nothing we have ever seen before. Our tour guide Nathan was the very knowledgeable. There wasn’t a question he didn’t answer including ones that didn’t directly pertain to the home. He played the piano for us and it was just marvelous. The ideas that Frank Lloyd Wright included into the home were amazing. We were surprised at the number of patents that he held. The bathroom was very interesting and a real space saver. Our favorite tidbit was that the homeowners left money in their will so the gas station close by could hand out full size candy bars like they used to do on Halloween.

Not sure what to say ... started at visitor center and walked on a path for a bit, found a sign saying house ⬅️ or was it ↖️ ... walked for a spell, found some water and eight turkeys came out of the prairie grass ... walked for another bit and came to an service road, still no house ... turned around, walked back to vehicle and left.

Amazing! Our guide, Nathan, made the tour so special, he even played a piece of music written for the house on the original Steinway! The house is a gem. Well worth the trip and then some.

We were so fortunate to stumble upon Cedar Rock! En route to Sioux Falls, SD, we had no idea this masterpiece existed near Quasqueton, Iowa (in spite of being FLW devotees) . The director, Katie, and tour guide, Nathan, were both incredibly knowledgeable and gracious. After touring the home (seeing a dress designed by FLW for Agnes Walter and lingering in the stunning garden room), we visited the boathouse (currently being restored), and the council fire site. Iowans have been exceptional caretakers of this iconic estate!

This park is about the Frank Lloyd Wright house, and they do a good job of putting the house in context and telling the story of the property. You really need to see the house to understand it. Pictures alone won't do it. It is both conspicuous and the antithesis to conspicuous consumption. The house is both expansive and very frugal with space. Wright's attention to detail is evident everywhere. The use of hardwood for interior surfaces and furnishings is rich.An astute person could probably spot many design patterns and geometric forms. Even as a passive observer I did spot a few. The surrounding property, the lake and the boathouse make for an impressive residence. The property is a small treasure, and the state park and their staff make the visit very rewarding.

Cedar Rock State Park is the home to a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and owned by the Walter's. It is an amazing experience to visit. An educated guide led our tour giving us a peak into FLW's mind and the Walter's life at the home he designed for them. There is no charge, but you may make a donation. You do need to call and schedule a time for your tour. This is the first FLW house I have visited, and I want to explore more of his designs. The park is beautiful, and the house blends seamlessly into its setting.

Best example of a preserved Usonian, complete with the original owner's housewares, on a gorgeous bluff overlooking the river. Complete with an impressive boathouse. This is a must see for anyone who has ever heard of Frank Lloyd Wright, and even those who haven't.

Nice example of FLW usonian home on a small estate now owned by the state. You can actually visit any time, and it's nice to be there in the evening while no one's around. Just park on the road outside the gate, and walk down the road immediately to the left (don't go to the visitor center straight ahead). You can't see the home from there, it's in the trees at the bottom of the hill. The walk is nice and well worth it.
Brad B — Google review
We visited Cedar Rock this past Saturday, July 13th. We were greeted by friendly, knowledgeable staff. What an incredible opportunity to see a Frank Lloyd Wright house in such original condition, where he not only designed and built the house but the furnishings and decor as well. The tour was fascinating, I can't say enough good things about the experience. We even had a chance to sit in one of the Frank Lloyd Wright chairs, they were covered by a cloth to protect them but - how cool was that! I also must mention Nathan, our guide, he gave a very informative and enjoyable tour. It's a must see. And at a bargain price! They only suggest a $5 donation.

This was an absolute joy to go to with my family! There are many water rides available with short lines, multiple attentive lifeguards on duty, and well organized. The park is not overly large, but very clean and well maintained and equipped. There were free life vests available for children with multiple sizes. There were ample inflatables everywhere and the ticket prices and food were very reasonable. There’s ample free parking and many places to relax. I would definitely recommend checking it out!!

FUN place for all ages! Courteous staff! Parking & tubes are free. Water slides were FUN but elbows got banged up at the start of the slides. Lazy river & Wave pool were also very nice but breaks for waves to start were long.Food was good and not crazy expensive. Good value Waterpark!

Awesome Park, had plenty to do and the Staff were amazing and personable. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because after flipping over on one of the rides and my glasses flew off, the response I got was we will get them to you later in the day??? So I informed her I needed them to see and she said well I cant go in there, so I said well if you show me where they are I will grab them and she said if you go in there I will have to kick you out for the day. Definitely not customer service oriented!!!With that being said overall was a GREAT experience and would highly recommend going if you are in or near the area. I drove 4 hours and was well worth it.

The park was nice, but pricey. Good that parking and tubes were free. Kids loved all the slides and wave pool, but did complain of scratches from the slides. Most of the deck chairs were broken when we went to sit down, not sure if that way in all areas of park or just where we were sitting; definitely an injury waiting to happen.Food was way too expensive.Wave pool was nice, but breaks while waves were off seemed to be very long.

From vintage farming equipment to modern machinery, visitors of all ages can explore countless priceless historic farming exhibits and artifacts.
Had a great visit learning about this tractor leader. Beautiful layout and clean museum. It was FREE to attend. Masks are required to visit. Left being more educated about John Deere. Goal achieved. They have engaging exhibits for kids. Simple activity but you get to punch a timecard. Had to explain that to my kids as I doubt they’ll see much of that activity in today’s modern world.

The John Deere Tractor and Engine museum in Waterloo, Iowa is very interesting, and learning about the history of John Deere and Charles Deere was interesting to learn about. If you like History and Agricultural equipment this is the place to go. Admission is totally free

There we were in the middle of Iowa? We came to a town called Waterloo and there was the JD Tractor museum. A self guided tour made it well worth the investment in time.

Wow, wow, wow! Very nice interactive museum and gift shop! Admission is free. Lots of displays and history of the John Deere family and factory.

We stopped out of the blue at the John Deere Tractor & Engine museum on a Saturday afternoon while be in Waterloo for another event. It was free to get into, and the front desk was extremely friendly. We watched a short video and then started into the museum. My 9 yr old loved that she could try some of the tools out and saw the different styles and how the tractor evolved into what it is now. We loved learning the history of the brand as well. Took us about an 1 1/2 hours to get through, but we read each display and my 9 yr old drew a tractor in the design area. It's definitely a place to stop if you're in the area!

What an awesome museum! Tons of history, tons of tractors and engines to look at! Great store at the end, our little girls loved it! 🥰 Loved going up in the big tractor at the end that they allow you to get in!

I wasn’t sure what to expect at this museum but I was pleasantly surprised. It is very well organized and tells the story of the John Deere company from its origins to today. It is free and open to the public. I recommend viewing the short film at the entrance to get an overview of the history. It shows to evolution of agriculture from animal power to today. We spent about an hour but you could easily spend several hours exploring this museum.

We took a day trip up here back in early May to visit this place and it was worth the free admission and it was a lot of fun seeing some of the old farm machinery and old and newer tractors and you can even sit on some of them. I saw 3 tractors, a 730 diesel tractor, a 4020 diesel tractor and a 4440 diesel tractor that we had on our farm and a 1948 John Deere Model B my one grandpa had and my other grandpa had a 1946 60 gas tractor It seems just like old times and great memories looking at these neat stuff that was just so cool to look back and reminisce. My great grandpa, my grandpa, my dad were all John Deere farmers and I helped on the farm too and I know I don't help do any farming anymore but I'll always be a John Deere man and a farmer's son. Please go visit this wonderful place. You won't be disappointed. 👍🚜 Definitely given this a 5 star! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Found this little hidden photo gem due to a brown sign on the freeway. Since I had been driving for a couple of hours I decided to drive the 3-miles an visit The Little Brown Church. It is a beautiful church that was built in 1860 and come to find out is the subject of the song "Little Brown Church in the Vale. I stopped for a few quick photos and found that the church was unlock and I was able to visit the very pretty sanctuary of this little country church. If you are in the area I highly recommend making the short drive for a quick photo stop at the very least.

Nestled in Mason City, the Historic Park Inn Hotel stands as a testament to Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural genius. This remarkable establishment is not only the last hotel designed by Wright but also a stunning example of Prairie School architecture. Guests can indulge in retro-style rooms adorned with unique design elements that reflect Wright’s vision, ensuring a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing stay.
Definitely take the tour if you have the chance. Barb was our Docent and she was excellent! The history of the property, all of the adversity it underwent over the years and the renovation which brought everything back together was amazing to hear. The rooms were comfortable as were the furnishings. The bathroom was a reasonable size and classic, yet modern. The work out room is tucked away in a corner of the lower level, but it's there. The Draftsman bar is a cool man cave also in the lower level which is worth visiting. All in all, it was a great weekend stay.

The room was beautiful. I love Frank Lloyd Wright and the entire hotel was fascinating to just walk through and enjoy. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, the restaurant was lovely with great food. The little patio area right next to the hotel was a great place to eat too with several restaurants. We tried 3 and they were all delicious. We will be back.

My second time visiting and it just gets better! If you love good architecture you definitely need to go at least once, but what I really enjoyed on our second trip was how many businesses are within walking distance. You can pretty much come to town, enjoy five or six nice restaurants and a dozen or so breweries and bars without getting in the car the whole weekend. You're just a few blocks from an art museum and an architectural interpretive center, and a hockey arena that again you can probably just walk to.It's really fascinating that the city was able to pull off not only a stunning hotel renovation but have so many local supportive businesses rejuvenate a downtown in a way that many larger cities would be envious.
Ryan W — Google review
A must stay for any architecture enthusiast. How often do you get a chance to stay in a work of art? The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed with FLW design details everywhere you turn. Directly adjacent to the hotel is a charming little alley of shops. Unfortunately most are closed on Mondays (the night we were staying, or course), but they look like they could be fun. The park across the street from the hotel as well as many of the surrounding blocks are filled with works of art. Be sure to take time to explore the hotel as well as the art on the surrounding blocks.

Exceptional hotel. We were given the wrong room and staff were very easy to work with in correcting the situation. The billiards room was also enjoyable in the evening: pool and cocktails with family was a lot of fun.

I stayed at this hotel while in town for a training at a near by business and I was very impressed with the rooms, the service, the staff, food.. pretty much everything about this hotel. Same as the rest of the hotel, the wine room and the pool table room are very cozy and welcoming, the restaurant is clean and has the perfect amount of menu choices for both food and beverages. The staff Andrea, Mady, Elizabeth, Jim, Mark and every one else, were very attentive and accommodating. Don’t forget to ask about the time traveler picture😉.Definitely recommending this place if you end up in Mason City.

My wife and I stayed here in late August and I was very thoroughly impressed with the hotel and set up itself. While I'm not privy to the history of the hotel, I believe it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. You can tell as the hotel is not cookie cutter style with many different hallways and rooms along with stairs placed in numerous locations. There is a larger balcony you can sit on and other numerous places to chill, relax, and socialize. I would rate the hotel as classy and really enjoyed it. The hotel portrays it charm well in a subtle sophisticated manner. The pricing for the hotel seemed very reasonable (queen for $150, including taxes). I think the queen suite was 299 and that room was very large when I saw it. Our room I would describe as European centric myself as it was pretty small. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and was pretty large. The biggest beef I had with our room was the noise though. We were on the second floor and you could hear the guests on the 3rd floor walk around and talk. We could hear someone snoring so there is noise here which is unfortunate but in a way expected based on the age of the property.
Derrick W — Google review
Although the rooms are nice, the service is really bad and the customer service is terrible! The restaurant is not the quality you would expect for this hotel. Food is 3 star out of 10.
Craig P — Google review
Although I didn't stay here, and I did not get to see the rooms, the lobbies, ground floor, restaurant and exterior are all beautifully restored and furnished. It's evident that this location had been run down over the years, but the restoration work and architectural refurbishment was extremely well done. The art pottery, lighting, and furnishings are all beautiful. The staff was very kind and helpful, and very knowledgeable.

The Surf Ballroom & Museum in Clear Lake is a landmark music hall with a beach-club vibe, offering tours and live shows. It holds a significant place in music history as the site of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and JP The Big Bopper Richardson's last concert. Visitors can explore the preserved ballroom with its original wood floors and walls covered in autographed photos and artifacts from past performers.
The ballroom was a nice surprise! It is open to the public and is quite the experience. They also have some community events in the building at various times. They also have concerts there. The historic significance of the building and their collection is quite amazing. Admission is on a donation basis. And they have a very nice gift shop if you'd like a souvenir of your visit. Well worth a visit!

Iconic venue for live music. The museum and tribute to Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper was awe inspiring, I felt as though I was on hallowed ground. A trip to the crash site afterwards is a must to make the journey complete, a very moving experience.

My sister wanted to see the Surf Ballroom. So we took a trip to Clear Lake, Iowa. What an Iowa treasure. We were lucky to be there on Tuesdays because the lovely Tuesday volunteer gave us an amazing tour and told us the history of the Surf. Recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an important rock and roll landmark, a photo collection of photos of performers line a hall, guitars with performers signatures sit a top of the counter. I'm so glad we visited this important historic icon.

Built in the '30's, was the last show by Buddy Holly and Richie Valenz before their plane crash just after takeoff. Look at all the stars signatures of those that ever graced the stage. Such cool booths around the perimeter of the ballroom dance floor

I have wanted to come here since I was a kid, but its never worked out for me logistically. Today, I was simply at the right place at the right time. As a musician, for me, this is one of the "Mecca's" of music history, and a major one at that. I can't really add to the great reviews of so many others here. It's very overwhelming in so many ways. You can feel the history when you walk in. I can't describe it, but when you even approach this building, you'll get it. I can say this, however: Once you walk in and have spent just a mere five minutes in here, it's like you've jumped into the deep end of a musical history pool. Sitting in the booths, you'll feel like it's 1960. Or, look at and stand on the stage, you'll see what those in history's s past generations have seen. I've been on many stages in my life. But, getting the opportunity to stand here, simply as another visitor, and feel the past. Honestly it beats anything else I've ever done on a stage. Thanks to the staff who keep this place looking sharp. My wife, and I, had a blast.

Loved it. You step back in time the minute you walk in. This amazing time capsule is setting here waiting for you. Take advantage of it. There is construction in the area ATM. You have to maneuver a little to get there. You can walk around and step back to the 40's - 50's. There is memorabilia all over the walls of previous musicians who have played the Ballroom. The staff is friendly and will answer questions. There is a small gift shop.Be sure to make a donation to keep the memories alive.I am so glad we got to stop and pay homage to the boys who didn't make it home from the Winter Dance Party. Thanks for the magic.

What a historic piece of music history. The Surf ballroom has been around for so long and has hosted some of the biggest musical performers of all time. They have a museum of their long and storied history on site. I drove all of the way here from Minnesota to see a concert performance, and it was definitely worth the drive. I seen the country band Midland and the performance was terrific. The sound quality in the concert hall was phenomenal. The setup of the stage and the entire concert hall was fantastic, there was no bad place to watch the performance.

The historic preservation of the Surf was fun to experience. I had toured the Surf during an Open House and was excited to return to see a show. We reserved a few booths and had a fun night! Updated big screens throughout were a great addition. Unfortunately a small crowd, but we had a blast!

What a beautiful building! My wife and I went up there on 6-10-24 and we had a great time walking around looking at the pictures, guitars, and other memorabilias in two big rooms of the museum. Then of course the ballroom area with the original dance floor, the stage, the green room behind the stage with thousands of autographs in the small room and the original booths that have been there since it open back in 1948 where people would sit watching a concert or there for a dance. The front of the building also still have the original ticket booth where you can purchase tickets for a concert or show. Pretty memorial statue of all three of the singer's names near the ticket booth. Just a 2 1/2 hour trip to this historical landmark. It was worth the trip. Just a little donation to go in. Definitely a lot of great memories in this beautiful Ballroom. When you walk around the ballroom they have music playing continuously from the 50's and 60's through the ceiling speakers. When they were ready to close a Ritchie Valens song was playing while I was recording a video around the ballroom. We'll be back soon. Giving it a 10 star.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Felt a bit sentimental being there. Just knowing that I visited the actual site where they crashed landed and died but also a nice place to visit. It wasn't messed up like how some famous people's grave sites have graffiti or beer cans. It was a very clean area. Nice farm

We stopped by here on our way home from visiting my inlaws in Wisconsin. The GPS took us to a house, but it's just a little farther on down the road past that (like everyone says, just look for the big glasses). There was a nice parking lot (across the road)with a port-a-potty and picnic table, so it's a nice little stop to stretch your legs. The trail to the actual memorial is an easy flat walk through the edge of the corn field and is kept up well. People leave change and various little items at the site. We really enjoyed this stop and appreciate the fact that the land owner is willing to show their respect to these singers from days gone by and share this little piece of history with others.

This is a place that I thought I'd never make it to. But, thankfully I did today. Finding this place isn't too difficult. Ignore Google Maps trying to tell you to pull into an abandoned farm entrance, and if you look straight ahead you'll see the glasses and adjacent parking area. This is a very special location to visit, and definitely a must, if you're in the area. We timed the walk from the glasses to the crash site, and it's about 9 minutes. My wife told be that it's about a quarter of a mile walk. Yes, I think you could literally hear a pin drop out here. It's so great to see so many people, from so many walks of life, come here to pay their respects to four people. Simply more proof that music can unite all of us. Even if it's only for a moment, it's a beginning. Major thanks to the owner of this property for being so kind for letting folks visit.

The Buddy Holly Crash Site Memorial is located 6 miles north of Clear Lake on a black top road and then 1 mile onto a gravel road. There is a giant eyeglasses memorial next to the gravel road with the grassy trail behind it that goes back 1/3 of a mile between two cornfields to the crash site memorial. People have written special messages or tributes or their names on of the metal posts and also hang sunglasses on either side of the frames or flowers on the ground in front of it. What a beautiful tribute memorial. When I walked towards the crash site memorial I had that sad feeling in my heart when I got there and that special memorial with Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, J.P. Richardson and the pilot Roger Petersen names on there. Can't believe it's been 65 years ago now since the world lost these legends. When I was standing there I played True Love Ways by Buddy Holly on my phone and sang along to it. I'm so glad to come here on a beautiful sunny day and see this beautiful historical landmark. You all will be always in our hearts and your music will live on forever for us to share. RIP Buddy, Ritchie, J.P. and Roger, ( pilot ). Thank you to the farmer who keeps the memorial looking very nice for all of us to see. Took a picture of the eyeglasses memorial with the sun setting down behind it. BEAUTIFUL! I'll be back. Definitely giving this a 5 star. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Packaging, photos & an old grocery store reconstruction tell the story of the famed processed meat.
My mother and I took my two little boys age 8 and almost 10. They loved it. There's so much interactive stuff to do for the kids. And the best thing was they had taste testing. The kids really love that too. We got to dress up like inspectors and the plant and we got to practice packaging span. The boys really loved it and me and my mom liked it too.

Very interesting and cool museum. All the interesting history is laid out in an interactive experience. The Spam cans riding around the track up in the ceiling are neat to see. The gift shop has lots of cool stuff. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a cool place to visit.

Great museum detailing the history and many uses of SPAM. All the exhibits had an interactive element, which is great for kids and adults alike. I found the overhead conveyor belt of all the flavors running throughout the museum to be especially fascinating. All the staff were friendly and the gift shop was well-stocked with souvenirs for purchase.

2023:Lots of fun and history. Knowing that I grew up on spam and loved spam my niece surprised me with a surprise trip to the museum. Even though my wife and niece are not fans of spam, they were surprised to have such a great time visiting a museum. They even sent pictures to others. Most did not realize there was such a museum and others claimed they were envious that we were able to visit the museum.

This Museum is always a favorite! It is kitschy place that is well done, interesting and informative. The company was innovative with their cans and recipe. You can try samples of various SPAM meats while learning about their history and manufacturing methods. The new location is even better than their old one!

It was cool, not as big inside as I thought it was going to be. Tried 2 samples they were giving out. It would have been cooler if they actually had a booth or station where you try all the flavors of spam. But I did get a cool t-shirt and some Spam to try at home.

We had a great time at the Spam Museum, especially with our tour guide, Ronalldo, who made the experience even better. It was super fun to learn about the history of Spam, and we were impressed by all the exhibits. The gift shop was a highlight as well, with a great selection of unique items and very friendly staff. One suggestion: it would be amazing if the museum had its own restaurant. They’re missing out on tapping into a huge potential here. Overall, a fun visit and highly recommended.

Loveeeeee this museum. It’s even better than its old location, which is visited in 2002. For Kitsch, history, and food lovers alike, this is such a well-done museum. Fantastic gift shop. I don’t know if I could drive through the area without stopping again!

We had a lot of fun. Had a lot of old machines we went to 35 Cafe. Had hamburgers fries and onion rings the onion rings had so much grease in it you could have fried half dozen eggs. Overall experience was really good.

Wonderful time.Staff was excellentTrucks park at rest area.No semi-parking at casino. So don't pass up the rest area thinking there will be truck parking elsewhere. It's still very convenient, just a short walk to the front door.

Disappointing to see smoking allowed at table games. Makes for a less than desirable experience (and for employees too). Casino otherwise was fine. Employees were friendly, but beverage servers hard to find even on a Friday night. Hotel is convenient and clean.

Gaming is about on par, but taproom servers have an attitude. Take a pass on the 35 restaurant because servers will demand a dessert order halfway through your meal and get snippy if you prefer to wait until you’re done. Nice venue, but we won’t return due to this one thing. Customer service is important!

The bar tenders are unbelievable. I've never been treated so bad. Very rude and unattentive. I will never step foot in this place again. Raw pizza. I had to eat just the toppings. This was my rest stop for the night and was out of time to go anywhere else. I will NOT BE STOPPING HERE FOR SURE!!!!

I shopped for my wife to obtain some Winnebago gear. The supervisor at the visitor center Melissa was absolutely amazing to work with. She took the time to email me pictures of the items She had available that my wife might like and processed my order over the phone. My wife and I absolutely love Winnebago because of their amazing customer service and the quality of the product they provide. Hands-down would work with this company again!

Took the Class B tour at Lake Mills. Paul was a great guide and told us about all the ins and outs of how the Class Bs are made. We got to see production lines for the Revel and Travato. Good way to kill some time while your RV is in the service center.

I just bought a 2016 Travato and heard that they do tours. I arrived a day early and was able to tour both facilities. Everyone at Winnebago was amazing. Sherry and Amy in the Visitor's Center were great and Bryce, Mark, and Rande were fantastic tour guides. I also ended up needing the Service Department while I was there and they were incredible too. I met a lot of other Winnebago owners and even they were all pleasant! I highly recommend the tour and going directly to the factory for any service needed.

It's a Winnebago museum. 3 displays--vintage motorhome, a small towable and a truck bed cab over. Very nostalgic. Posters, old magazine adds, history and time lines for the progression of Winnebago. Also a movie reel which highlights all the movies and TV shows a Winnebago appeared in. T-shirts, mugs & stickers for sale and other assorted Winnebago gifts.

Myre-Big Island State Park
State park
Nature & Parks
Sprawling oak savanna & prairie area with a glacial esker offers wetland birding, camping & hiking.
Myre-Big Island State park is awesome!all the deer that come up to the camp sites is amazing! I love seeing all the nature! I would recommend this place to anyone that loves nature! The host at Myre-Big Island White Fox campground let's people burn canvas from chairs, let's people cut branches from trees so their rv will fit, make fun of people and the older camper and vehicle they have, will only talk to people who have newer campers and vehicles! I think Myre-Big Island State Park can find someone friendlier to be the host for the park!
Lady C — Google review
Nice park. Easy and plentiful trails. Vault toilets are very clean and smell good like coconut. Campsites are nicely worded and not too close to each other.
Russell M — Google review
Small but lovely and quiet state park, close to the cities. Stayed in the big island campground in spring and it was really nice. Plenty of spaces, not too close. Showers/restrooms weren't open but it looks like a newer, big building. Nice trails around and through the big island and also in the rest of the park. Can easily walk all the trails in a weekend stay.
Emily S — Google review
I had a wonderful time at this park! I stayed in backpack site 3. There is a mix of lakeshore, forest and prairie here. When I visited there were no garbage receptacles at the picnic area and the restrooms were closed (I think likely because it's after labor day) but the vault toilets were fine, and I did find dumpsters at the main campground. If you're doing the hiking club trail, it's a longer one compared to most of the other parks so be prepared for that. I did a few sections of it and never did find the password (it must be in one of the parts I didn't get to). The trails are mostly flat and wide. There are portions that overlap with a bike trail. The signs are adequate to get around without having to have a map in hand or on your phone. The backpacking sites are a ways from the campground but not too far. 1 and 2 are closer, but spaced out from each other, and 3, 4 and 5 are on the outer edge of the park right off the lake (I believe you can also paddle in, at least there was a portage sign in site 3). Make sure to get water before proceeding to the backpacking sites. The only downside to my site was that I could hear highway noise. I think 1+2 are farther away from the road. The bird watching in the fall is incredible. I saw or heard over 30 species of birds, including 2 kinds of owls at night. If you visit the backpack sites you'll be treated to hundreds of pelicans, ducks, geese, herons, and other waterfowl.

We went to Myre-Big Island State Park for the first time in 20 years and I forgot how amazing it was. The park is much larger than I remember with several walking, hiking, and biking trails. In the winter there is groomed snomobiling trails which is beautiful. There is tenting and camper spots in a few different areas of the park. There was some newer bathrooms built with outdoor sinks for washing. We saw a ton of wild life as we walked the trails. We loved it and would go again.

This is a nice wooded state park within 90 minutes from the Twin Cities. They have both electric and tent campsites, and a nice selection of walking trails and bike trails. It is a good place for birding.

Very nice bike trail and campgrounds. Spent all morning looking around and riding bikes. Thinking we will likely camp there on another trip.
Stephen M — Google review
Beautiful, quiet woods. Bathroom is clean, showers are hot. We stayed in big island campground with a view of the lake. Sites are large, level and wooded on big island campground. Road does have potholes and a few low hanging branches.
James S — Google review
Our stay was pretty early in the season. We stayed for 1 night, traveling in an RV. Campground is easy to get to. In great proximity to Interstate, but far enough away to feel the relief of nature. Campground is basic, clean, and quiet. Beautiful scenery and nature! There's a lot of water! Standing water on the Campground road. Marshy grass lowlands in the park. While our stay was not impacted by mosquitoes, I can imagine it's great habitat for skeets in the summer months.

The Reptile & Amphibian Discovery Zoo
Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Opened in 2009, this family-friendly zoo features reptiles & amphibians from around the world.
I brought my 8 month old daughter there for the first time and she had a blast. The people working there are super nice, they went in back and grabbed a baby alligator for her to look at up close, then they asked If we wanted to watch them feed the tortoises. The little things like that, that they don't necessarily have to do, really makes an impression nowadays. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody that has kids, or just likes reptiles.
Kravin M — Google review
Fantastic place for hands on experience! Very knowledgeable staff. Happy to answer any questions. They had a few feedings while we were there. Snakes, Crocks, turtles, alligators, and birds. Cool place easily spend 2 hrs here. The staff has a q&a session. With an option to hold the specimen on display for a fee. Or pet for free. It seems the animals are well socialized and as friendly a wild animal can be. Not to busy can wonder around with feeling to rushed or crowded.
John R — Google review
Our kids had a great time! I loved that we could go through at our own pace. The kids spent as much time as they wanted at each exhibit. They were also able to watch multiple snakes get fed. The workers were very knowledgeable and explained about the snakes as they were feeding. For extra money they were also able to have photos taken holding a small alligator or a snake. We chose the alligator and they are still talking about how cool it was! They also had a few step stools scattered around that were perfect for the toddlers to carry around and use to stand on to see the exhibits at a better height. Overall it was a great experience!

My grandson has been there before, my first time. It was amazing, all the animals, the employees-extremely knowledgeable and friendly. So many reptiles and amphibians to see and learn about. Sitting with my grandson and daughter, holding Harley- a 6 yr. old Cayman was pretty cool, to say the least. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST VISIT, for quality family time and fun education for the kids. Definitely going again! Google RAD ZOO..

Unequivocally the absolute best reptile and amphibian zoo anywhere ! ! !My wife and I love going to zoos and we have been at many over several states. We have seen other amphibian and reptile displays but this is far and above better anything we have seen thus far. There more in number and variety here than anyone else. They have several species I have never seen before -- along with a few beautiful birds. The owner also brought out an alligator and a python for us to pet. I can't say I've ever petted an alligator before! So if you want to see reptiles and amphibians you absolutely, positively, must see this!
Steve O — Google review
We have not been to the facility itself yet. But we booked them for a birthday party and it was absolutely amazing. The kids loved it! Our guide was soooo very friendly, kind, calm and patient with the children. He took time to answer questions we had and we learned quite a bit of things too. All the kids got to touch at least some of the animals. But my son was able to hold more of them. Being the birthday boy. He was over joyed! Big reptile friend!!! I'm so very happy and glad we found them. I was worried they weren't coming because I hadn't heard anything, but turns out traffic was really bad(construction season) but everything worked out wonderfully! All my friends are looking into it for their future things too. We will make a trip to the zoo itself sometime too!!! Very happy. Recommended highly.Oh and everyone got to hold the big snake at the end. The kids faces just lit up with that!!
Lindsay S — Google review
We live about 45 minutes away and we love going to this zoo we don't mind the drive the people and staff are so nice there and you can get so close to the animals it's a very unique experience. I think we will end up doing one of her birthday parties down there also at some point we had seen a party going on and it looked very fun. All of our kids look forward to different features and animals at the zoo.
Jared W — Google review
The RAD zoo exceeded our expectations. The animals appeared well cared for even with minimal staffing. My husband and I toured the zoo for over 2 hours with the only rush being our children which finished the zoo in about an hour. We will definitely be back to visit the next time we are in the area.
Janna S — Google review
We made the drive from the cities and arrived 30 minutes before closing. There was a lot to see, and my 2 young kids loved petting the baby alligator. My husband says 30 minutes was perfect (it helped that we were the only ones there), I think 45 minutes would've been better.
Lisa A — Google review
I so wanted to visit this place after seeing them on Facebook. Sadly was pretty let down. The guy who took our money literally told us how much and then walked off after we paid. We were the only guest at this point. The blonde female worker never bothered to acknowledge our group as we walked past her. Some of the enclosures are great and really well done. Others are rather dirty and super cramped for the species. I felt terrible for the fly River turle and the gold fish. In another enclosure I watched a tortoise "chasing" a toad and kept trying to bite him. I feel like this place started out with great intentions and got in over their head trying to help rescued animals. Again this is all my opinion because staff couldn't be bothered to explain anything else. The alligator snapping turtle were in just enough water to cover their heads not even their entire body. Unsure if they were draining and cleaning their habitat or just thought they wouldn't like to submerge all the way. I will say I got lucky I had to come from Wisconsin to the ren fest so it was only a 45 minute detour to check this place out. We had talked about making the 4 hour drive just to visit this place at one point this summer. Had I made that trip this would absolutely been a 1 star experience. If you are in the area and really love reptiles it might be worth a stop. If you are the type of person who gets upset about how animals are houses at petsmart this would not be the type of place you'd like to visit. I don't ever see myself visiting again.

It has a very open atmosphere, very spacious. I am not a huge wine drinker but the three kinds I tried were good. My wife who rarely drinks wine had two glasses of a sweet white that was recommended by the waitress. I had a Betty White sandwich and it was pretty good. We both enjoyed our time there

Pretty nice small town winery! The staffs are very friendly and helpful. It costs you small amounts and you can taste a couple of their breweries. What we had was very fruitful taste, mild for everyone. They have indoor and outdoor tables for you to enjoy yours leisurely... There is a big parking lot by the winery. Also, the Cannon River trail is right next. Very convenient if you prefer a walk after your wine taste.

Loved the atmosphere, loved the wine and we decided on ordering flights, only issue was we waited well over 30 to 40 minutes for our charcuterie board, and others arriving after us, got served before us. I was hungry and had to hold off on my wine till I got food in my stomach. Our waitress was nice and felt bad we waited so long, but the only thing is she didn't come to our table to even explain why the long wait. When bringing out the board, she apologized and said that we received extra for no cost, more on the board. We ended up buying our favorites for at home.

Attended a wedding reception. The venue was wonderful! The staff were quick and friendly. The decorations that were able to be setup were amazing! I would definitely consider having my large events in this space. Additionally the winery was superb and hosted a full host of options from beer to wine to liquor. The style is modern rustic and executes it without flaw. Stop in when you are in town!

Legendary bank known for its 1876 Jesse James shootout features local history exhibits & artifacts.
I was visiting my best friend, her daughter and her two granddaughters for the holidays and we planned a trip to Northfield to see the bank the James-Younger gang tried to rob back in 1876. Cathy, the Director of the society, was a delight - very genuine and had some “I Spy” games for the girls to play while we toured the museum and the actual bank. The museum is small but full of all kinds of information and there’s even a small gift shop where you can indulge your inner outlaw - shirts, books, cards, etc. I highly recommend this museum for any Jesse James aficionados. And it’s in the lovely city of Northfield.

Great detalis provided by the written accounts and artifacts really made the chronological walk through an enjoyable experience. Had no idea the townsfolk battled the James - Younger Gang and firced them to leave with almost nothing. Worker there was extremely knowledgeable about the event and the town's history. Must see this place if you're in town!

This is something if you love history. The last bank the Jesse James gang robbed. The actual vault and floors are intact. The actual bank ledger is there with blood on it, too. They also do a reenact the robbery on the first weekend after Labor Day.

Another great small town in Minnesota packed with history and cozy charm (sorry, I just wrote that like a travel agent or travel mag-corny but true). I was hoping they had daily reenactments of Jesse James Gang of 8 trying to rob the First Natl Bank in Sept 1870s as I wasn't clear from website but it turns out it is only performed on the Sept anniv. I toured the historical society downtown for $5 which houses the history of James Gang, the actual original bank inside, and also the Campbell's cereal company who made brands such as Malt 'O Meal and still does. There were also breweries nearby which we try in every town & city we visit so a good afternoon!

Enjoyable and informative visit outlining the famous attempted robbery of the bank - they have done a wonderful job providing stories and artifacts.
Jennifer G — Google review
While I would like to give it a higher rating I just wasn't very enthused by the museum. While I understand that is often upkeep on even small museums can be a lot, I was still somewhat displeased with the content vs the price. If I recall correctly entry was $10 to $20, depending on age. Additionally, it all centers around the story of one bank robbery. Which is cool, sure, but I would also have liked to learn about the history of the town itself. Questions like the town's establishment, the stories of the Scandinavian immigrants, how a small town ended up with two colleges, etc. were sparsely addressed, if at all. Overall, cool story of the bank robbery which was well told but minimal content beyond that.
Celestia — Google review

Vermillion Falls Park in Hastings is a picturesque stop featuring a 35-foot waterfall, walking trails, and a rentable picnic pavilion for events. The park offers free parking and easy access to the falls, which are located right in the center of town. Visitors can stroll along the path beside the Vermillion River and cross a charming walking bridge. The park's well-maintained trails provide a peaceful and relaxing experience, with the added attraction of seeing the waterfall freeze in winter.
Great little park. Nice walking trails and a view of the falls. Did a little bit of off-roading to get to the bottom of the falls but it was worth. I just wish people would pick up after themselves. I picked up a bag of pop/beer cans and other garbage.
S B — Google review
This is a cool park where you can see the Vermillion Falls and follow paved paths or explorer hidden paths. There are plenty of cliffs and caves to navigate if you're brave enough. Just watch your step! This is also just a short walk from the historic Old Mill ruins. The only downside of this park is the amount of litter and graffiti that people unfortunately feel the need to leave in this otherwise beautiful spot.
Ben — Google review
Beatifiul. The unmarked, unpaved, unofficial trails are fun but required good boots and I highly suggest some general work gloves because you'll need to stabilize yourself or grab on to a rock, tree at some point. Some of the unmarked trails slope towards and are dangerously close to steep drop offs into the river gorge. Keep close watch of dogs and children. Do not go on the unmarked trails after dark. You'll trip for sure. Unique karst topography provides endless exploring opportunities. Find the caves.

Lovely little area in Hastings with a beautiful waterfall. You can walk at the bottom (I hiked) but it's muddy and woody down there so be prepared lol. It also has a lot of nice walk ways/trails too.

Nice park to go for a walk. The waterfall is really nice and so as the trails. It was my first time going there and I really enjoyed it with my family. Fall is one of our favorite times of the year to go to the parks because of all the beautiful leaves.

I wasn't sure if I would want to come here because of the falls being so close to an industrial building. But I am a sucker for waterfalls and I must check them all out. I was surprised by how clean the park was. The falls are pretty neat too. Pretty big. I found out there's another park to view them on the other side of the river. I'll have to go to that part one day as well. Short walk from the parking lot. Nothing crazy but worth seeing.

Very nice walking trails! Love, love, LOVE coming here to walk! It’s such a peaceful and very relaxing walk. I love watching and listening to the water fall. The fall is also so beautiful when it freezes in the winter time! I find the lock bridge to be interesting because I like to see how long the locks have been on there for. I have memories of walking/exploring here as a little girl and I still continue to come here and enjoy the scenery! Would definitely recommend coming here and walking around. Trust me, you’ll love it!

I had a lovely private retreat in the building on site in this very nice park. knotty pine walls, ceilings and hardwood floors, wood burning old brick fireplace, tall windows overlooking a mixed-trees forest, window benches, and even a place to hang your coat, on hangers, with a bench to sit down and take off tour boots.Tables and chairs available on site. Adequate kitchen, bathrooms, seems like I saw a door marked showers, too.Building was comfortable, and we were able to adjust temperatures to our liking. Not sure if there is air conditioning, but were were only interested in heat, as we watched an early April snow flurry filter through the trees. It was warm enough to melt on contact with the ground, but cool enough for jackets and heat.Decent parking, and easy freeway access. Within a mile or two of the Minnesota Zoo, which was closed this Sunday evening. I would have stopped in!

I went here today to go paddleboarding and had a great time paddling on the handful of different ponds and lakes. I started at the portage located at the Jensen Lake Canoe/ kayak launch and traveled by water on my paddleboard and by foot through the trails carrying my inflatable sup on the trails. There are 6 different portages where you have to get off and walk to next lake or pond and the are not very long. I took a break at the visitor center for lunch and turned around and went back to where I began. I saw a turtle some cool birds and heard an owl. It took about 4 hours round trip and found it very nice to get out into nature and hear, see and smell all the things. There are also lots of hiking trails in the area as well. Great way to spend an afternoon off!

Always enjoy hiking in these trails. Several entry points to different parks of the park. Many lakes to walk around. A good section of trail is paved for easy walking. Rolling hills for a variety of views and terrain. The majority of the trails can be done in loops, very few out and backs.

Really cool trail system a lot of floating walk ways and water views. Muskrats playing in the water, turtles floating around. Lots of birds chirping and hanging out. Long main trail and many side trails that circle around the lakes out there. If you do hike around out there make sure u have a trail app like all trails or GMaps to help guide you around. So many side trails and places to go. One of the nicest hiking trails in the twin cities if you like long hikes and nature.

This park is 30 minutes from me but well worth the drive. The visitor center is very accommodating with indoor bathrooms and kids spaces. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did a short paved walk because of time constraints but would love to go back and take the longer trails. There is a beach and multiple docks. The park is large so it never felt overcrowded. There is ample parking…My only complaint is the planes flying over which did take away from the nature aspect of the park.Still it is a beautiful destination and we will visit again.

Zoos & Aquariums
The Minnesota Zoo, located in Apple Valley, is a 485-acre preserve showcasing a wide variety of local and global animals, from Russian grizzly bears to butterflies. With nearly 100 different animals on-site, visitors can explore the diverse habitats and enjoy the company of many exotic creatures. The zoo offers several trails that allow guests to experience different seasonal environments in the wild.
Great experience for the kids! We started at the treetop trail. This was more of a relaxing walk than anything. We were pretty far from any animal, but we could still see them. The sea otters and bears were the kid's favorite. The discovery bay is a must-see as well. Plenty of sharks and other creatures to see.

It was kinda expensive; $51.90 for two people & parking. I would have hoped there would have been more to see for those prices. Also, the constant ask to "round up and donate more" when you already paid quite a bit for entry is annoying. The signage in the park isn't that great either, and they did away with paper maps (understandable), but better signage would be nice! We did enjoy the nature walk but would have liked to see more animals!

First time on the zoo's treetop trail and wow was it an amazing walk. The view of nature and into the animal areas was incredible. I'll definitely be coming again. This place is great for children of all ages.

I had a wonderful time at this zoo! The organization and maintenance of the facilities were top-notch. The tropical forest section was my personal favorite, as it featured some exotic animals I had never seen before. A tip for future visitors: be sure to purchase your tickets online in advance. Overall, this zoo is a great destination for families and children, offering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all ages. I highly recommend it!

There is nothing like an afternoon at the zoo! The animals are cared for in spacious natural-inspired environments, with unique exhibits featuring regional habitats. The zoo also offers amazing summer camps for kids of all ages, including some available at the farmstead, where you can learn about cow milking and taking care of chickens.

Went on the new walking treetop trail and it was really nice! Couldn't believe how long it was! There's also a fun play area for kids along the trail that's built into the ground and is really unique! We saw the bird show which was really neat -the birds and the handlers have really practiced and it definitely shows!! Wasn't expecting the birds to be so solid in their routine with where they flew, tricks thy did, etc! Wasn't too long or short either! Overall a great time!
Alyssa B — Google review
It's a nice zoo and on a rainy day, the big indoor area is great! One complaint is there are no maps (pamphlet) or we couldn't easily find one and their app doesn't even have a map! Also a few of the stamps in the Minnesota trail were broken.
Diana — Google review
Worth the price of admission. Tickets must be purchased in advance but getting in the gates was quick. There was a little rain the day we were there but a lot of indoor things so it didn't really affect our day at all.

I recently visited the Minnesota Zoo, and it was an incredible experience! The variety of animals here is simply amazing, with everything from exotic big cats and playful primates to fascinating marine life. Each exhibit is beautifully designed to mimic the animals' natural habitats, making it not only educational but also visually stunning. The zoo is meticulously maintained, with lush landscaping and plenty of shaded areas to relax and take in the sights. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to share interesting facts and answer any questions. It's clear they genuinely care about the animals. Whether you're a family with kids or just an animal lover, the Minnesota Zoo is a must-visit destination. Highly recommended!

Awesome place with great staff and great views!! My family loved the high-ropes course and the zip-lines were a lot of fun; even for a guy who isn't the biggest fan of heights. Duane and his team are awesome and we will definitely be back and highly recommend you check it out!

Drove up a day early for U of M graduation from South Dakota so that we could take my daughter ziplining. Had it booked out a couple of weeks. Got an email at around 8 p.m. the night before telling me they have staffing issues and need to cancel. I would think staffing issues would be well known way before the night before. So we are out about $130 extra dollars because we didn't need to stay the extra night. Had they given us enough notice, we could have made other plans or just waited a day before making the 4 hour drive. I am not happy needless to say. So unless they plan on also refunding us the hotel room as well as the money for ziplining, we won't be back.

The staff is amazing with people of all skill levels. We had a guest who was completely new to ropes courses. They were patient when they got scared stiff and wouldn't move. They even came out to where he was and helped him get to the next section! It was a very uplifting moment for everyone and it made the experience a very memorable day for us.

Valleyfair Amusement Park in Shakopee is a must-visit destination, spanning 125 acres and offering entertainment for visitors of all ages. Since its establishment in 1976, the park has expanded to feature over 75 rides, including eight roller coasters and Soak City water park.
Halloween themed weekends in Sept/Oct: great! 0-5min lines for rides, no heat, plus fun freebies for kids (candy trick or treating, costume contest, paint by number wall, etc). All water areas are closed for the season as well as some other rides. The fear rises are open, the majority! Definitely don't miss the ball factory in Snoopy's area right by the entrance after the monster ride. See photos. Kids can play here for hours while you parents relax a minute! Do know that everything is an extra charge however, arcade games, slime station, and of course all food/drinks.Still, fabulous fun and best way to get on rides with short waits.Tickets: get them online and search for a Groupon or other preseason deal. You shouldn't end up paying more than $30/person. And preschoolers can be free if you apply for that online ahead of time.Enjoy! There's lots of great themed entertainment and music everywhere too.

Came here for opening water park weekend. We arrived when the park opened. It was really easy to find parking as the lot was mostly empty. Getting through the season ticket line was a little slow but we managed. They opened more lines as soon as we were called up to the window. Security was a breeze and we were off to the rides. We rode Northern Lights twice before they decided to shut it down for some reason. Steel venom also kept having issues as well. Hopefully they can iron out the kinks because it won't be a very good experience when the park is full during the summer.A number of my favorite places to eat were also closed. I would assume due to the early part of the season? Everything is really expensive. It's nice that the place is cashless but plan ahead. We did the season water bottle pass. It pays for itself very quickly on hot days.Though soak city was just opening nearly all the water slides were closed... disappointing. The kids really enjoyed the splash pad and wave pool though. Mad mouse or whatever it is called could use some major efficiency upgrades. Lots of waiting around on that one.The wave, carousel, antique cars, wild thing, eagle flying ride, and a few others all went off without a hitch. We'll be back. Hopefully they can iron out the problems for next time.

I am visiting as many of the Cedar Fair parks as possible and really enjoyed this one. The park is compact and has a nice variety of rides and the water park. Food is expensive in all the parks. The weather was very nice and the wait time for rides was very short. I would definitely return when back in this area. Was able to take public transportation to the park from downtown Minneapolis which was a plus but it did take about 70 minutes that way, but it only cost $2.50 each way.
Diane B — Google review
Rides are great. They have something for everyone. High cost for food is off-putting but, ya gotta eat. Plenty of choices for food. No cash, only cards for everything. Very clean. Lots of places to sit and rest.
Cary S — Google review
Good amusement park but lacking serious hard core rides. Good selection of family friendly rides. Water park looked pretty good.
Kevin F — Google review
Great Park experience! Think we timed it just right between weather and on a Monday and had almost zero lines the entire day including entrance to the park. Stuff were friendly and helpful, the park was clean and pleasant. The rides and water park was lots of fun! We loved it
Chad J — Google review
Spent the day at Valley Fair, and we had a blast. We used their app, which was very useful, knowing the line wait times. I purchased the all-day food and drink pass, which is worth the money! The only issue I had was stopping at the funnel cake stand, which was on the list, and they said it wasn't. Otherwise, it definitely saves money.
Jenna C — Google review
My three kids and I went to Valleyfair this last weekend and had a thrill! The park was clean, the attendants were friendly, lines for most rides weren't long. The only two lines that were long were the Wild Thing and Renegade, but worth the wait.
Michaela S — Google review
I have a season pass with my daughter, We love rides and the excitement at the fair. The lines can be long on the weekends, so we typically go Tuesday-Thursday to minimize wait times. The water park is refreshing on a hot day, but there are a lot of kids, be ready, and youll hopefully get a seat in the shade unless someone has saved a Lounge cgair and left to go on more rides(which I've seen happen too many times).
Emmy H — Google review
Hands down one of the best ways to spend a late spring/summer day! If the kids are under 36 inches, there is not much, but they do let you ride most kids rides with your small children!Guys I know it's rough right now, but please get more busses running! The wait times are getting to long!

I absolutely LOVE this place!! First visited 3 yrs ago with my husband. We loved it then too. My girlfriend moved out to MN almost 2 years ago and this was her first time there. They of course have all kinds of candy but they have so much more! They have a whole collection of different flavored hot chocolate, different seasonings and sauces, meats, confections, candies you'll remember from your childhood.........seriously, if you can't find something to enjoy here, you're not trying hard enough. They have different sections, each of them themed. It's seriously just a cool place to check out. We had so much fun.

Finally tried the apple bread as there was advertisements all over the store and the smell was intoxicating. We started from one side and worked our way towards the middle. We noticed the bread getting softer and softer…. Then we realized the dough was completely raw in the middle. Currently annoyed by the fact that there’s no web site, Facebook or phone number to contact them at and give them the needs up they need baking lessons.
Justin M — Google review
This place is always so fun to visit. Makes you think of the past and be amazed by so many different kinds of confections, candy, baked goods and soda. There is definitely something for everyone.
Windy K — Google review
Never seen so much candy, soda, pie, and specialty foods in one place. Also many other cool things like life size Marvel and Disney characters and a life size animatronic character band. If you have a sweet tooth this is the place to go!!!
Dan V — Google review
A must see spot just for the art and figures strewn about the ceiling of this humongous place. I was in awe of how cool it was. They even have an automation candy band playing songs every 5 mins. Just about every fairytale, pixar movie character, and marvel character and much more are represented. Then of course there is the candy, rooms and rooms of it. Every flavor taffy, giant suckers, sour candies, gum, old school and new it's all there. But there is also jellies, sauces, fancy pastas, local meats, bakery items, cheeses, spices... There's a lot here and definitely worth a stop. I was there a lot longer then I thought I'd be. But wasn't upset about it. The only thing that made my visit less than satisfactory is that I bought some hamburger which had a price of $7.25. The girl at the register couldn't read it and wasn't sure if it was a 5 or a 9. I told her it's a 5. She asked the lady at the next register. I'm not even sure she looked at it and said it's a 9 we don't sell anything with a 5. I said I'm not going to argue with you over 4 cents but it was a 5. However, in this review I'll say; the meat you have for sale is sold by weight and those prices end in all types of numbers. So, whomever the manger is you may want to inform your cashiers of that. As well to question a customer over 4 cents is silly. Other than that my experience was pleasant and I do recommend you stop. Hope when you cash out you're experience is more pleasant than mine.

Every year we go here for father's day weekend. 2-3 hours of time to see everything is perfect. Look forward to seeing all the different varieties of candies, drinks, meats, cheeses, and chips. Have recommended in the past and will continue to do so. Excited to see the new store when it's built!

This place is a must visit! Never ending options of candy, pasta, chips and locally made food. You can find candy from main box stores in addition to candy from around the world you’ve never seen before. They have fresh baked pies and a large selection of soda pops. The artwork and statures are great for photos and you can easily spend an hour + here! There is ample parking and they do not take debit or credit cards. They do have ATMs on sight. Highly recommend!

I was there for almost an hour before I even started shopping, I was so overwhelming, consumed with the atmosphere, and taking pictures. It's the kind of place I would drive out of my way to stop again! And that's just for the atmosphere!!I have a case of 24 bottles of root beer (no two are the same!) Plus. All kinds of candy!Did I mention that I also spent an hour just blown away by the shear volume of candy you have to choose from!Who's ever business model this this was?"Yer frickin BRILLIANT"R.3.&-DEOHGEE.

I hadn't been to this place in a while. If you are in the area it's definitely worth a stop. There's more than just candy.. there's pies, pancake mixes, pastas, sauces, puzzles, sodas, and tons of just fun, silly, cheeses, meats and creative items. They only take cash so come prepared with cash. They do have ATM's but there's (I think) a $2.50 fee... So be aware of that.I'm excited to try my first pie from there... we got a caramel apple pie.Overall the prices we're not too bad.. there's some items you find at normal stores and to be honest I'd avoid those... but, spend your money on those rare, unique, or hard to find items, which there's a ton of those. Not only the staff... But in general everyone was nice and friendly. It's just a place to go, enjoy, and have a good time.. just remember to bring cash😁.They will eventually be moving the location due to upcoming construction, but at this for this year it'll be there, so whether you've never been or haven't been in a while, it's a good time to make a trip there.

The place could use a little update. But it's charming and a fun atmosphere. My steak wasn't great but my sisters Chanhassen chicken was! Fresh rolls, don't be shy ask for more if you want more then one. The chocolate cake was perfect!Music and theater were a lot of fun. I did have a hard time hearing all the words, our booth was farthest away from the stage.

What an amazing place! We saw Jersey Boys & it was fantastic! Matinee lunch was delicious. We were a group of 6 friends who are retired & one couple moved away from the other two. We met to be together & have a good time & boy did we. We stayed at Country Inn & Suites & had supper the night before at Brindisi & stayed the night & saw show the next day. Perfect get away! We are hoping to make this an annual thing!

We came to see a tribute to Abba, great show. This performance took place at the Fireside Theater a more intimate smaller space, great acoustics. Finding a parking space on the lot can be challenging , but we always find space in the ramp. The shows are offered with dinner o just the show. We choose to get dinner elsewhere, the food at the theater can be quite good but a bit expensive. Either way a good experience. 👍 Marcelo J.

I'm going to review our food because I think everyone LOVES the Chanhassan DT shows. Steak was delicious and prepared perfectly to our request. The green beans tasted SPRINGtime fresh. Sure, here's a draft for your Google review:---My wife and I recently attended a performance of Jersey Boys at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, and it was a fantastic experience! The performance was outstanding, showcasing incredible talent and energy. Our meal was well done, and I particularly enjoyed my old fashioned – it was perfect. We were seated with another couple whom we didn’t know, but the conversations were pleasant and added to the overall enjoyable evening. Just a heads-up: if you don't book a full table, be prepared to be seated with other guests. All in all, a wonderful evening and highly recommended!

Oh my gosh this was my first ever dinner theater experience and it was WONDERFUL!!! I came with the Stanley County group to see the Carol King showing. The food was delicious and our sever, Jamal, was super cool and great to talk with! If anyone looks at these, oh my god give him a raise. He was just a peach! Anyway, the food was served so quickly and was super great quality and the atmosphere….oh my gosh…the outside looks so different from the inside! It’s so spacious and the lighting was beautiful! And the performance was amazing, it almost made me cry! I’m definitely going to come back another time with family. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience!!!

Paisley Park is the former home and recording studio of the iconic musician Prince, located in Chanhassen, Minnesota. This private estate and production complex offers guided tours that allow visitors to explore exhibits showcasing Prince's life and career, as well as his legendary recording studio. Cameras and phones are not allowed on the tour, providing an intimate look into how the music legend lived. The estate also features special exhibitions that add further intrigue to the experience.
I did the 3 hour tour... It was nice to be immersed in Prince's home, enjoying the design and vision for the hang out areas and the studios... The facility's layout, in general, seems very dreamy, yet well-thought-out... Their preservation of so many details and wardrobe pieces must be hard work, but they are doing a great job! Don't expect to be able to take photos until the very, very end when you tour the club/concert venue. Don't expect to see an elevator or bedroom or bathroom or his kitchen. This tour is focused on music, which is one of the many reasons we love our boy isn't it?! Often times, someone's legacy gets disturbed by other drama or politics, but I must say that Paisley Park is keeping it all about the music, so thank you 💜🫶🏻😇🫶🏻💜

Loved the museum and The Ultimate Experience Tour! I can't even describe how amazing it was to be in Paisley Park! Our tour guide was Jess and she only works on Fridays. If you go, I hope you get her as a guide. The amount of knowledge she has about Prince is astounding. I came away with so much more love and respect for his music because of the wonderful experience I had on the tour. I will definitely come back!

Ultimate tour May 2024. Superbly run visit by the staff. Jessica was our guide and very knowledgeable. We arrived early and were allowed into the gift shop, then 20 mins before the tour went to the main entrance. Restricted on photos and do not touch anything or lean on walls, etc, but that's the artistic element. It's totally recommended if a fan or not. 5 stars.Question why is the house and studio numbered 7801?
Tom T — Google review
Absolutely stunning. There aren't many words necessary. The entry process is seamless (drive in, talk to the security at the booth, go on to the parking lot). You get to peruse the gift shop if you're early, and then you go on the tour where you get to see a lot of Prince's happy place. You also get to play ping-pong on his table in one of the recording studios. Just do it. You won't regret it.

I have been Prince fan since 1984. I was so excited about this tour and it did NOT disappoint. You got to hear and see so many interesting things that made Prince who he was. I loved his office. Reece was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We did the Ultimate Tour and loved every minute. When they unlocked your phones at the end it was so much fun. His shoe collection was beautiful too. Highly recommend. We went 9/4/2023

Wonderful experience! Staff was welcoming, professional and were true fans of Prince. Tour guide Tommy was great. The ultimate experience went by so fast could have stayed longer. I’m glad they made everyone lock their phones for a majority of the tour. I hope to visit again in the future.

I didn't go into the museum as it's a bit more pricier than I could afford but I did get to go into the gift shop. I had to advise the guard at the gate of my intentions. So, I was able to park and take a couple pictures of the exterior and looked around the gift shop which did have reasonably priced T-shirts. $25. They even carry XXXL which were $33. What I really thought was cute was the umbrella it's $30 but it changes colors when it rains. I believe from white to purple. So, if you're a Prince fan it's worth a stop.

I really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide Bee was fantastic! She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed seeing the studios, soundstage and lounge. My only gripe is we didn't receive our pictures. The kiosk said there may be a 24-hour delay, but over a week went by and we didn't receive anything. I filled out the Contact Us form on the website and didn't hear anything for over a week. I then emailed them from my personal email and received my pictures the next day. Besides that, I had a great experience.

Listen, let me tell you, this was incredibly amazing and breathtaking!!! I felt like he's still here giving the world a tidbit of himself and leaving much to the imagination. I love mysterious Prince. I'm a true die hard fan. The tour was well put together and the museum was an unforgettable experience. To see and feel where he spent most of his career life was a blessing. The color purple feels like an experience. I think it's a bit commercialized but hey, Prince left this world a gift. Please go experience that gift, you won't regret it. Sending purple peace to all 💜

Being able to park our van on site was a nice option as we arrived a couple of hours before the showing of the 40th anniversary of "Purple Rain". They don't let you set lawn stairs out, but they never bothered us for sitting in the van with the AC on.The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Pretty cool experience. If you like Prince and his music, you should go stop in here.

Amazing to visit Paisley Park. We did the 120-minute VIP tour, which was fascinating. You found yourself feeling very close to the artist and Prince's creativity.Just so you know in advance, phones are placed in sealed bags a d handed back to you until the final room, as Prince had banned mobiles at the time, and that works. Plenty in the final room, and it means you can immerse yourself in the experience and listen to your tour guide without distraction. We had Domino. They were great and full of knowledge about Prince's fashion journey and the iconography. Just ask if you have questions ...My shirt for the day included in the photos ... it is 36 years old ...!A great experience.

Paisley Park is definitely in your heart. I paid for the Ultimate Experience but it was not the ultimate experience. As a life long fam, I was disappointed in that the majority of Paisley is closed to the public. Way too much time spent listening to the tour guides, barely enough time to take in the site/sights. No your book, no photos allowed except at the end. After 3 hours you're tired and dying of thirst!! The gift shop does not sell a lot, not diverse enough considering P was so prolific. I enjoyed that it was where Prince was when he was on Earth, it smells like him, the art is amazing, check out the books in his office, the short videos were nice to look at.It's overpriced, very tightly run with a lot of rules, no places to sit and absorb, too much of the tour guide talking, I felt rushed. I will not return. I will enjoy what I have in my personal collection. 😁

So intense. Prince's presence is so strong. You can feel his spirit in the studios and near his mad cat guitar and his pianos. Beautiful place. Meticulous attention to detail every where. Unbelievable how much his genius comes through in every aspect of this fabulous compound. Must go if you can.

I went on the paisley experience tour and it was a great tour. Just note they do take your phone and put it in a locked pouch until the last part of the tour. It was a bummer, but I get them not wanting to give away the tour in shared photos. That was one part I enjoyed more about Elvis' Graceland was being able to capture the whole experience. I would have done the longer tour if I had more time on my trip as there is more you see in the huge building with those options. Worth going if your ever in minneapolis! RIP 🙏 prince!

We did the Ultimate Tour. It's a very interesting place. I learned an appreciation for Prince! But much of the information was above me since I am not a Super Fan. Name dropping of other artists and the brands of guitars or studio equipment left me bored but it had the Super Fans in a frazzle.

Even if you’re not a prince fan the museum is very interesting to learn about all the things he has done. Our guide was great and very informative. I took the 1st level tour. I would love to come back and take the other levels if I ever make it back to Minneapolis.

The atmosphere is electric, filled with a sense of nostalgia and reverence for his legacy.Whether you’re exploring the studios, the soundstage, or the private collection, every corner of Paisley Park resonates with his genius. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, part of the University of Minnesota, is a sprawling 1,200-acre public garden featuring scenic display gardens, woodlands, ponds, prairie landscapes, and various sculptures. Visitors can explore the Japanese Garden and Rose Garden while enjoying the natural beauty of the area. The arboretum hosts educational programs and events throughout the year. With its stunning summer flowers that bloom into September and vibrant fall foliage in October, it's a must-see destination for nature enthusiasts.
This was probably my favorite stop on my recent trip to Minnesota. We went late August and there were still some absolutely GORGEOUS sections of flowers left. Tons of trees, shrubs, hedges, and multiple waterfalls, too. A three mile walk and three mile drive that are both beautiful. They also have a beautiful prairie, hedge maze, sculpture garden, greenhouse, boardwalk, and visitor center. There are other trails branching off the boardwalk that you could walk for miles, with easy to navigate maps. We saw songbirds, turkeys, rabbits, butterflies, honeybees, and bumblebees. Admission is $15 for non-members, remember to purchase your tickets in advance online. Worth every penny and we probably spent about 3 hours here, but would have spent all day had it not been over 100 degrees. Parking is easy and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

If you have a passion for nature, flowers, and trees, this destination is a must-see. Located less than a 30-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis, it offers a vast area to explore. A drive-through visit provides a delightful experience, and the ticket price is reasonable. Taking the time to admire the Tulip flowers near the welcome center can turn this into an unforgettable half-day trip with your family. I highly recommend visiting this place at least once if you find yourself in Minnesota.

So beautiful! Enough flowers still blooming. Each garden section was so well cared for. I loved the variety and appreciate the sheer number of different plants there are to see. The 3 mile drive was peaceful. I wish i had more time. If i lived close enough i would definitely have a member pass to go more often.

Only had a couple hours, so made the.most of it. Had a light lunch at Cafeteria (good soup). Then started walking the paths near main lodge. Nice spring flowers in bloom. Our favorite was the Japanese gardens with azaleas in full bloom.

Great event at their recent Holidays Light Show Tour. Warm and friendly fire pits to keep you toasty. Tasty stores to make. The lighted trails were gorgeous and very hiking friendly well lit and posted. Staff was very helpful and did a great job. Had some good tunes inside the building. Enjoyed good adult beverages sitting next the fireplace. Overall a perfect event for our New Year's Eve celebration. I would highly recommend attending. Reasonable prices on all tickets, food and drinks.

Lovely, sculpted exhibitions. A wonderful visitor center with every amenity imaginable and a gallery and restaurant. The gift shop has a little bit of everything. 10/10 experience but dress for the weather/bugs!

I spent an afternoon here in early May and felt like I barely scratched the surface of this gorgeous arboretum. Well-maintained paths, beautiful flowers and trees, and peaceful surroundings. A great place to visit if you enjoy birding. The visitor’s center has a wonderful gift shop and clean and spacious restrooms. Purchase your ticket online and have the QR code ready to scan when you arrive at the gate for a smooth and swift experience.

There was an art fair going on, which was so much fun to go to. I loved seeing the beautiful tulips and the other spring flowers. We had lunch in the Arboretum, which was okay. It wasn't as terrific as the last time I ate there, but there are lots of different choices. I had the turkey sandwich on cranberry bread.

Gorgeous and well worth visiting!! After walking around the gardens near the visitor center, we took the free Bee-line shuttle around the three-mile drive and visited various areas of the grounds. One of the shuttle drivers mentioned their favorite plant of the entire place is the kaleidoscope plant inside the conservatory. Wow, that was cool! Looking forward to visiting again!
